Journal Drawing week 2 071022
Another overly exciting week. Overly because my energy levels are depleted and I feel like a wet dishrag.
Monday 03 10
Started the week on Monday morning with a tutorial in the studio with Tania. We talked a about artspeak and my irritation at it. Interesting that TK raised the idea of small talk in a drawing – extraneous material that is not necessary to the how and why of the drawing. Eg the first equinox drawing I did and the surface decoration being basically noise that gets in the way.
We discussed play and the wee film that I made of the proof that the equation that I used for the equinox drawing was correct. Again, could have been cleaner. Less extraneous material. The cardboard background was interference.

Her observations of her practice were accessible and illuminating
‘is it possible to hold a cloud,(moment) still within a drawing?’ ‘trying to stop the moments of time, being held in a snow globe.)
