The talk by Isabel Seligman answers so many of my questions about how the TBWDP are awarded. Seligman is a reknowned curator and a judge for the prize. She talks through each of the finalists and describes what attracted the judges to each one. It strikes me that there is no secret code. There may well be a wave of conciousness (as described by B Traven) which makes some approaches, ideas or aesthetics more apt for any particular moment than others but there is not great secret shared by judges and curators.
I must remember this
