Tutorial with Alex Roberts; – As there is also a tutorial with Anita this afternoon, we focussed our discussion around life drawing and how it feeds into my larger practice.

I described how I lose myself in the activity and enjoy the process but when I then review my drawings some days later I am irritated by the lack of precision, that limbs don’t meet joints.

AR asked what was going on in the drawings that I am interested in – the atmosphere, lifting the material from the page, making marks by erasure and removal.

We talked about atmosphere and minimal marks and focussing on what interests me – unlearning the traditional approaches to life drawing.
