\"\"All weekend is spent in a haze of steam and dissolving leaves. The composting that is happening all around the house is sped up in my utility room. I love the damp atmosphere and the aroma of wet vegetation. First I mordant the papers. This time I am going to experiment with printing paper and with good quality cartridge. I make an alum and iron solution and soak each sheet for a minute or two before hanging them to dry. The hallway looks like a laundry. The fusty smell permeates the house and receives complaints. I light an incense stick to compensate but it really just adds to the strange aroma and doesn’t help. The cartridge paper falls apart. The printing paper is robust and feels as though it would withstand further immersion.<\/p>\n
